Review from New Musical Express
"Knew it would be too good to last. With 'Invisible Sun' I found myself stopping to listen to The Police for the first time - the first suggestion of depth and mystery. Here, though, everything's back to boring old normal: all clatter claterre and eeyo-oh-woh. God but it grates."
Review from Record Mirror
"The barechested philosopher and his blond bookends follow up the dismal 'Invisible Sun' with a calypso-ish effort, catchy enough but still falling well short of 'Walking On The Moon' quality. A monster hit no doubt, but it doesn't live up to the promise of its title, which sounds like an old Motown line."
Review from Melody Maker
"Owners of 'Ghost In The Machine' own this already. Typically well-crafted fodder from the camera-shy trio, more piano than guitar, nicely walloping chorus. Sting can't resist adding a few "Eeeee-yo"s at the end. Wouldn't surpise me if it was a "hit"."
