Academy of Television Arts & Sciences for Public and Community Services Award/Broadband.

WaterAid (WA) has been nominated for a Public and Community Service Emmy Award in the broadband category by the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences for a public service announcement currently screening at The Police concerts during the band's

worldwide tour. The short film was created by Crossroads Cinema and Chris Wangro for WaterAid, the world's leading NGO dedicated exclusively to addressing the global safe water and sanitation crisis. The film seeks to educate viewers about the world's water crisis and the work Wateraid and its partners do in 17 of the world's poorest countries to address it.

On February 12, 2007 The Police announced they would support WaterAid by donating a portion of the proceeds from their worldwide tour to WaterAid. This support continues to help generate public awareness and funds to address the global water and sanitation crisis. To complement this effort, the short film was produced to screen at concert venues around the world just prior to the band's taking the stage.

Emmy winners will be presented with their award at a luncheon ceremony on Friday, November 9th at the Princeton Club in New York City.
