Can't Stand Losing You: The Police verabschieden sich in Leipzig...

Leipzig. The Police haben sich mit einem Konzert in der ausverkauften Leipziger Messehalle 1 von ihren deutschen Fans verabschiedet. Leipzig war die letzte Station in Deutschland und das 150. Konzert der Tour.

Noch einmal spielten Sting, Gitarrist Andy Summers und Schlagzeuger Stewart Copeland ihre größten Erfolge von 'Roxanne' über 'Message In A Bottle' bis hin zu 'Can't Stand Losing You'. In der knapp zweistündigen Show folgte ein Hit auf den anderen, manche davon wie 'So Lonely' in neuen Arrangements. Nach dem unvermeidlichen Superhit 'Every Breath You Take' verabschiedete sich das Trio mit einem ihrer ersten Songs, dem punkigen 'Next To You'.

Nach ihrer spektakulären Wiedervereinigung im vergangenen Jahr will sich die britische Kultband am 7. August im New Yorker Maddison Square Garden endgültig von der Bühne verabschieden. Zuvor geben sie noch vier Konzert in Europa und 17 in den Vereinigten Staaten. Die Band hatte sich 1984 getrennt.
